Aston Martin Vanquish 1st generation
Aston Martin Vanquish

1st generation

2001 - 2007

The first-generation Aston Martin Vanquish (2001-2007) was the marque's flagship grand tourer, replacing the Virage and introducing a bonded aluminum chassis developed with input from Lotus. Styled by Ian Callum, its muscular yet elegant coupe body became an icon of early-2000s Aston design, later cemented by its appearance in the James Bond film Die Another Day. Power came from a 5.9-liter V12 producing around 460 horsepower (boosted to roughly 520 in the later Vanquish S), paired with a paddle-shifted automated manual transmission that delivered dramatic, if unhurried, gearchanges. Top speed exceeded 190 mph. Inside, hand-stitched leather and machined aluminum trim underscored its bespoke craftsmanship. Rare, thrilling, and thoroughly analog in character, the original Vanquish remains a benchmark British supercar and a highly collectible modern classic.
